Kristin Kabanuk of Seaside Yoga in Seaside, Oregon and Laura O’Reilly of Potentialize Me Yoga in Kelowna, BC, have teamed up to bring you a well-rounded, 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training Program that is intuitive, practical and authentic. Trainees will receive a balanced education in how to instruct Hatha Yoga, Vinyasa Flow, Yin Yoga, and Restorative Yoga classes.
Kristin Kabanuk is an E-RYT 200 instructor who studied under Ely Ruales and Mahesh Chandra in Varkala, Kerala, India in the fall of 2013. In 2014, she opened Seaside Yoga, the first yoga studio in the Oregon Coast town of Seaside. There, she grew the town’s first, connected yoga community which is thriving today.
Kristin started her yoga journey in 2011. At 8 years old, she was diagnosed with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis and dealt with chronic pain through childhood and well into her adult life. Her first few attempts at yoga prior to 2011 left her feeling weak and in pain and it took a few years before she came back and made a commitment to stick with it. Once she did, she was amazed at how the practice improved her life on not only a physical level, but mentally, emotionally and spiritually as well.
Her journey with lifelong chronic pain gives Kristin a unique perspective as a teacher. She resonates with students who struggle with limitations in their own bodies and is able to help healthy students slow down and learn to really connect with their physical experience on the mat. She looks forward to training other instructors to nurture not only healthy, strong bodies but those who need a more therapeutic approach as well.
